Engage with patients remotely through RPM

Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) enables health care teams to digitally monitor and engage with their patients outside of their traditional care setting using a SaaS based Chronic Care Management (CCM) platform. RPM enables collection of physiological data that is automatically transmitted and stored through the Kencor Health platform. Here, AI capable technology is leveraged to triage patients, conduct automated follow-up, and alert care teams to patients' varying conditions.

Specializing In

Reimbursements & CPT Codes

Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) are universal medical codes created to report and reimburse all medical tasks and services. These codes are used by healthcare providers to report to medical insurance providers and global health organizations.

The final code descriptors for the new CCRPM codes read as follows:

CPT Code 99453

Remote Monitoring of Physiologic Parameters

Includes: Initial setup and patient education of devices used for RPM to monitor vitals such as body weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature etc. This code cannot be used if monitoring frequency is less than 16 days out of 30 days in a month. Billing Frequency: Billed only once. Medicare Reimbursement Rates: $21

CPT Code 99454

Remote Monitoring of Physiologic Parameters

Includes: Device supply with daily recordings and programmed alerts. This also includes collection, storage, and transmission of recorded data to healthcare providers. Billing Frequency: Once a month Medicare Reimbursement Rates: $69

CPT Code 99457

Remote Monitoring Treatment Management Services

Includes: 20 minutes of remote monitoring, treatment, and management services by a qualified healthcare professional. This involves two-sided and real-time interactive communication between the patient and healthcare provider.

CPT Code 99458

Remote Monitoring of Physiologic Parameters

Includes: Additional 20 minute sessions of remote monitoring, treatment, and management services by a qualified healthcare professional. Billing Frequency: Once a month Medicare Reimbursement Rates: $43

CPT Code 99091

Collection and Interpretation of Physiologic Data

Includes: Non-interactive collection and analysis of physiological parameters such as blood glucose, blood pressure, ECG, etc. This data is electronically stored and transmitted to the healthcare provider. Billing Frequency: Once a month Medicare Reimbursement Rates: $59.19

CPT Code 99490

Chronic Care Management Services

Includes: A 20 minutes remote consultation used for monitoring a management plan. Billing Frequency: Once a month Medicare Reimbursement Rates: $42

CPT codes 99487, 99489, and 99490 for chronic care management services are also now covered by private providers offering Medicare Advantage, such as United Healthcare and Aetna.

In addition, the American Medical Association (AMA) has recently announced six new codes supporting RPM for 2020. These are 99421, 99422, 99423, 98970, 98971 and 98972.
Along the way you can count on Kencor health to support your RPM practice to maximize new revenues while providing value to your patients.

* All reimbursement regards remote monitoring of physiological parameter(s) by clinical staff incident to the billing practitioner’s professional services under general supervision.
